Pre-school:

The pre-school classes (maximum 20 per class) work in French for half the day and in English the other half.

The pre-school and kindergarten children eat lunch half an hour before the older students.

After lunch, the pre-school assistant accompanies the children to a classroom for some quiet time.

Those children who need to sleep may do so at this moment. The others return to do come craft work in the classroom for the afternoon.

The younger students benefit from a 30 minute break in the afternoon.

Primary school:

The French and English-speaking students work seperately in the morning.

Each group studies fundamental subjects (French/maths) daily in their mother tongue, followed by a class for their second language.

In the afternoons, the students work in their year group (French and English-speaking students mixed together). They work in both languages (English and French).

Geography and science are taught in English while history, civics, art and sport are taught in French.

The programme:

Two programmes are used:

Concerning the fundamental subjects for English-speaking students: we are approved by the Board of Studies of New South Wales, Australia.

Concerning the fundamental subjects for French students: we are approved by the education office of New Caledonia representing the French Ministry of Education.

For the other subjects: we mainly follow the French national education programme, even if some subjects are taught in English. The only exception is geography for which we have specially designed a programme which allows us to fulfill our goals more precisely.

Sport:

The children go out for sport twice a week with a certified sports teacher.

This is organised outside of the school at suitable sporting grounds.

The uniform:

All students must wear the uniform, which you may buy directly from the school. Only clothes authorised by the school may be worn.

Students are asked to wear their hair tidy at school. Girls should preferably wear their hair back and boys should have short hair.

We recommend students wear sports shoes.

Assembly:

An assembly gathering together all the students takes place once a period.

Each class presents their main projects to their peers and explains what they learnt.

Excursions:

The school encourages excursions to improve and facilitate the undertanding of certain projects lead by the teaching staff.

The Athletic Carnaval:

The whole school gathers together for a day of sport.

Four houses (teams) exist in the school and during this day different sporting events (individual and collective) are organised. Throughout the running of the day, the winners earn points for their team. At the end, the points are counted to rank the houses.

Despite the competitive aspect, all the students are rewarded and everyone has a fun day.

Swimming Carnaval:

This day is spent in the same spirit as the Athletic Carnaval, with the exception of being at a pool.

Camp:

A camp is organised at least once in the year. Students from year 1 to year 5 spend three days on a property, sleeping in tents. This is a great way to create strong bonds and unforgettable memories.

Halloween:

For this day, we organise different fun activities around the theme of Halloween. The students come to school disguised.

The end of year show:

At the end of the year, the school organises a big show where students perform dances, songs and plays for their families…….
